Profile:
Invitation to Design is an ever growing company, with over 14 years experience in residential and commercial design. Invitation to Design has projects throughout CO, NC, VA and CA. Susan has a Bachelors degree in Marketing from the University of Mississippi along with an Associates degree in Interior Design.
Invitation to Design is committed to improving the integrity of interior design creating kitchens, bath and home interiors, that are pleasing and functional. Susan pays great attention to the details involved with each project, to create the most beautiful design, all the while creating a space that is truly yours.
Susan emphasizes "aging in place" or universal design with all projects. What is aging in place? It means remaining in one's home safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of age, income or ability level. It enables you to have the pleasure of living in a familiar environment throughout one's maturing years, and the ability to enjoy the familiar daily rituals and the special events that enrich all our lives. It gives you the reassurance of being able to call a house a "home" for a lifetime.
The following are just a few examples:
* drawer dishwashers so that you won't have to bend down too low
* increasing the amount of lighting in your home - (by the time you reach age 55 you need twice the amount of lighting you did at age 20)
* installing zero level thresholds
* purchasing furniture that has a higher seat and firmer cushions
* use of bold colors to create contrast with flooring, walls and furniture
Invitation to Design can guide you through the design process either directly with you or along with your architect or builder. Susan can provide you with the personal assistance to insure the right choices are made to fit your personality, lifestyle and budget. |
